Things To Do When It Rains in Los Angeles

Glitterati Tours and concierges throughout the city hear this phrase rarely, but it’s, “we need things to do when it rains in Los Angeles.”  It’s rare, because until just recently, we were going on our 6th year of drought conditions.  Our beautiful Santa Monica and San Garbriel Mountain Ranges, were locked in a brownish color for years. We were far below our already low average of about 14 inches per year… 5 years running.  Even cities like Beverly Hills cut the sprinklers, and their normal bright green medians along Sunset Boulevard turned to dead grass and dust.  There was even a hunt for someone dubbed the Wet Prince of Bel Air, who used 11.8 million gallons of water in a

Visitors Guide to Rose Bowl Game and Parade

If coming to Los Angeles, one must have a visitors guide to the Rose Bowl Game and Parade happening in Pasadena.  This year, both will take place on Monday, January 2nd, 2017, as opposed to the typical New Years Day.  That’s because the Tournament of Roses that puts on both events has a “never on a Sunday” tradition dating back to 1893.  This was done to assure that horses hitched outside churches wouldn’t be spooked during events.  There’s no more horses (other than those in the parade itself), but the tradition continues. There will still be plenty of celebrating on New Years Eve along Colorado Boulevard with visitors and parade watchers grabbing the best seats along the route for the parade

Holidays at Farmers Market Los Angeles

It’s festive with the holidays at Famers Market Los Angeles! There’s never a bad time to visit the extremely popular Original Farmers Market Los Angeles.  But they’ve even upped the ante with all the holiday festivities throughout the complex.  Remember, this is a permanent fixture in the heart of Hollywood.  What once started out as local farmers selling their goods from the back of their trucks in 1934, has turned into dozens of kiosks selling everything from Brazilian, Mexican, Italian, Cajun, Greek, Asian, German, and Spanish food.  There’s also vendors for ice cream, beer, produce, souvenirs, fresh meat, coffee, candies, fudge, toys, and even a bakery for dogs.  This is why it’s a favorite spot for locals and visitors.  It

Catch Restaurant in West Hollywood for Celebrity Sightings

Catch Restaurant in West Hollywood has only been open a month, but has already solidified itself as a favorite for the A-Lister celebrity crowd.  It sits at the corner of San Vicente and Melrose, just south of the beautiful West Hollywood Library, and across the street from The Pacific Design Center.  A host or hostess greets you on the lower level entrance and escorts you to the rooftop bar and restaurant.  The decor and ambiance are very inviting, especially during sunsets. The menu is eclectic with a focus on sushi and seafood.  We recently had a fantastic sample of their offerings, including the roasted beet salad, and their jumbo shrimp from the cold menu.  We also had their Tartare Trio

Tours Departing from LAX Airport

With our annual review complete, Glitterati Private Tours of L.A. is once again proud to provide tours departing from LAX Airport.  We are one of the few private tour companies in LA offering sightseeing opportunities directly from the airport.  This is ideal for guests with extended layovers that wish to see  a bit of our city before their continuation flights to other locales. We can pick up guests directly at their terminal. Airport regulations understandably require a rigorous protocol for tour operators and transportation companies.   This ensures a visitor’s safety as well as security issues and traffic flow. Depending on a guests’ sightseeing requests, we do have a 3 to 3.5 hour minimum with any tours departing from LAX

LAX Los Angeles Tour Departures During Busy Holiday Periods

Glitterati Tours is thrilled to be one of the few private charter tour companies with LAX Los Angeles tour access.  Our access to pickup guests at LAX requires special permits and a security clearance via transponders on all of our vehicles. This affords guests with an extended layover –or a tour before ending at their local hotel –the opportunity to see the best that L.A. has to offer. With the busy seasons like July and August, as well as the holidays around December and Spring Break, sometimes it’s tough to schedule pickups at LAX.  There is a 3.5 hour minimum when picking up for LAX Los Angeles tour departures.  If there’s other tours on the books on your potential tour
