TV Taping Tickets to The Ellen Show and Other Programs

Quite often, all of us guides from Glitterati Tours of Los Angeles are asked if we have access to TV taping tickets for shows like Dancing with the Stars, The Ellen Show, and Big Bang Theory.  Sadly, no.  In fact, these particular shows can be really tough to score.  At one time or another, many of us had or still have connections to individuals at the studios who were able to acquire tickets, but we stopped this years ago, due to having a middleman and lots of uncertainty.  Nothing was ever set in stone until a few hours or minutes before showtime.  (Imagine waiting in a ballgown in the sun, not knowing if you were attending a taping of Dancing with the Stars until you were safely inside the studio and sitting in a seat).

That being said, there are quite a few ways to get TV taping tickets.  There’s a large company called Audiences Unlimited.  Their website is TVTickets.com.

The Ellen Show handles their own ticket distribution at her official website, EllenTV.com.

A really fun day, and potentially a profitable one, is attending a taping of The Price is Right.  They often tape two shows in one day, and most guests make a day of it and enjoy the Farmers Market and The Grove next door.

One can wing it and sometimes find an agent hawking tickets outside of The Hollywood & Highland Complex for TV taping tickets.  They are usually trying to fill audiences for talk shows and game shows.  Make sure to check their badge and that they’re authorized to give away these tickets.  TV taping tickets should be free.  However, there are brokers that may have access to guaranteed VIP seats for some of the hottest shows.  We heard of one guest that was quoted about $5000 per seat for a taping of Big Bang Theory.  Even (especially) in Hollywood, everything has a price.
