Hollywood Toys and Costumes for Halloween

With so much happening in Los Angeles this spooky season, Glitterati Custom Tours of Beverly Hills has to say a few words about Hollywood Toys and Costumes for Halloween.  By far, our favorite store in L.A. for costumes, make-up, props, accessories, masks, wigs, and everything else one must have to put together the perfect outfit for Halloween parties and venues. If you happen to be lucky enough to be visiting our city during this festive season, look no further than Hollywood Toys and Costumes.  It’s one-stop shopping for folks attending events like the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval on October 31st. Here’s just a tidbit from their website of what Hollywood Toys and Costumes has to offer in terms of masks:

Visit a Great SteakHouse in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles

A big part of our job at Glitterati Tours of L.A. is acting as a concierge on wheels for the best that our city has to offer.  Forget what you’ve heard —not all native Angelenos (Los Angeles natives) live on kale, celery, and wheat germ. We eat and drink everything! Proof of this is that there’s a gym on every corner, and our hills are dotted with fantastic hiking trails. A good steakhouse in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles can be found everywhere. Looking for a steakhouse in Beverly Hills or L.A.?  Here’s a handful of our favorites: Mastro’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills.  Fantastic spot for A-Listers.  A favorite for paparazzi, for famous celebrities like Mariah Carey are frequent visitors at

Tours Departing from LAX Airport

With our annual review complete, Glitterati Private Tours of L.A. is once again proud to provide tours departing from LAX Airport.  We are one of the few private tour companies in LA offering sightseeing opportunities directly from the airport.  This is ideal for guests with extended layovers that wish to see  a bit of our city before their continuation flights to other locales. We can pick up guests directly at their terminal. Airport regulations understandably require a rigorous protocol for tour operators and transportation companies.   This ensures a visitor’s safety as well as security issues and traffic flow. Depending on a guests’ sightseeing requests, we do have a 3 to 3.5 hour minimum with any tours departing from LAX

Wilshire Grand, The Tallest Building in Los Angeles

Recently, the Wilshire Grand Center became the tallest building in Los Angeles at 1099 feet.  Since 1989, the tallest has been the U.S. Bank Tower (which, by the way, just opened up their SkySlide attraction on the 70th Floor this summer). L.A. now has the tallest building west of the Mississippi. Once open, the Wilshire Grand Center will host an observation deck, office space, a 900 room hotel, restaurants, a 73rd floor rooftop pool, and retail shopping malls.  Gone but not forgotten, the old Wilshire Grand Hotel from 1952 was demolished to make way for our new giant.  This old hotel played host to dignitaries like Pope John Paul II and John F. Kennedy. During our private guided downtown L.A.

Luxurious Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles

The luxurious Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles is so much a part of the glamor and mystery of Hollywood folklore, probably because of its lush and private grounds.  As one of the Glitterati guides, we sometimes are requested as walk on guides for international guests who already have a driver or car.  I spent two days with an amazing family visiting from Europe, who had a wish list of places they wanted to see, including the Getty Center, Venice Beach, and El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de Los Angeles, del Rio Porciuncula, which translates to The Town of Our Lady the Queen of Los Angeles, the river Porciuncula.  Of course I shared many more amazing destinations, sights

Topless Van Tours in Hollywood and Beverly Hills

A recent investigation by NBC Los Angeles, concerns over 2 dozen topless van tour companies in Los Angeles that will soon be receiving letters from the Department of Transportation regarding the modifications and safety of their vehicles.  While many of these companies have their heart in the right place and wanting to provide the best experience for visitors, some have skirted regulations all together in terms of safety, training of guides, and the essential California Public Utilities Commission guidelines. Glitterati Tours mentioned this in a recent post, and reminded guests to do a bit of research before booking a private tour of Hollywood and Beverly Hills. That being said, we feel for the many (good) companies that have collectively spent

9021Pho on Sunset Boulevard

After a long day of touring Los Angeles, our tour guides’ favorite delivery is 9021PHO.  Eat in, take out, or ask for delivery.  If you haven’t been lately, make sure to try out their new menu.  While there are several locations, we especially love the venue on Sunset Blvd.  It’s conveniently located between Los Angeles and West Hollywood, and walking distance from Sunset Strip hotels like The Andaz, The London West Hollywood Hotel, The Mondrian, Best Western Sunset Strip, The Standard and Sunset Tower.  The building where they’re located is also popular for AirBnB visitors. Seeing a screening at The Director’s Guild of America?  This is a convenient and delicious choice for a quick meal. We love their pho of

Summer Weather in Los Angeles

It’s about to get hot.  In the next few days, weather in Los Angeles will heat up to over 100 degrees. That’s 38 degrees celsius for many of our international travelers.  While it’s going to be warm here, our neighboring Palm Springs (about 2 hours east) will hit a staggering 120 degrees.  Typically our heat is dry, but some clouds are predicted, so it can be a bit muggy with the humidity, but nothing compared to areas typically warm and humid like New York, Hawaii and Florida. This current forecast is somewhat rare for June, but can be the norm in July, August and September. What to do on a hot weather day in Los Angeles?  If your hotel or
