Fall and Winter Tours of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills

Wow!  What a summer for Los Angeles and Beverly Hills with Glitterati Tours.  We were nearly booked solid from mid-June through mid-August.  Many days, we turned down about a dozen tours from referrals, international travel agents, and our concierge family at many of the local 5-star hotels throughout Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Bel Air and Santa Monica.  August has been incredibly unpredictable.  Thus far, in like a lion and out like a lamb.  As we write this, the end of August has dropped off we pre-bookings.  As school schedules change year by year, this inevitably changes the tourism season.   Years ago, it was almost guaranteed that September 15th was a back-to-school date nationwide.  Not the case anyone. This summer,

9021Pho on Sunset Boulevard

After a long day of touring Los Angeles, our tour guides’ favorite delivery is 9021PHO.  Eat in, take out, or ask for delivery.  If you haven’t been lately, make sure to try out their new menu.  While there are several locations, we especially love the venue on Sunset Blvd.  It’s conveniently located between Los Angeles and West Hollywood, and walking distance from Sunset Strip hotels like The Andaz, The London West Hollywood Hotel, The Mondrian, Best Western Sunset Strip, The Standard and Sunset Tower.  The building where they’re located is also popular for AirBnB visitors. Seeing a screening at The Director’s Guild of America?  This is a convenient and delicious choice for a quick meal. We love their pho of

Summer Tours in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills

Summer tours in Los Angeles are up and running.  This year, the season started early with a blockbuster June, and it’s continued right through July.  The busiest period will actually be coming up within the next week and continue through August and into the first week of September when many holidays end here in the U.S.  That being said, we can’t stress enough to book summer tours in Los Angeles prior to arrival. Just this week alone, Glitterati Tours was fully booked up 5 out of the 7 days.  This is fantastic for us, but unfortunate for the dozens of guests looking for a last-minute private tour of Beverly Hills and L.A. Not sure if a private tour is right

LAX Los Angeles Tour Departures During Busy Holiday Periods

Glitterati Tours is thrilled to be one of the few private charter tour companies with LAX Los Angeles tour access.  Our access to pickup guests at LAX requires special permits and a security clearance via transponders on all of our vehicles. This affords guests with an extended layover –or a tour before ending at their local hotel –the opportunity to see the best that L.A. has to offer. With the busy seasons like July and August, as well as the holidays around December and Spring Break, sometimes it’s tough to schedule pickups at LAX.  There is a 3.5 hour minimum when picking up for LAX Los Angeles tour departures.  If there’s other tours on the books on your potential tour

The Best Selfies in Los Angeles

Move over Hollywood Sign, Beverly Hills shield and The Walk of Fame — there’s a bunch of the best selfies in Los Angeles just down the hill.  With Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, SnapChat, and Twitter, everyone wants the best possible photo opportunities when visiting a hot city like Los Angeles to say “been there.” Some of the most popular selfies in Los Angeles include the flat pink wall at Paul Smith on Melrose Avenue.  This has become a “must-stop” during many of our tours of Los Angeles. Across the street is the popular “Made in L.A.” mural. A block away, one can stand up against Colette Miller’s “Angel Wings” for a memento keepsake from the City of Angels. Also nearby, street

Summer Weather in Los Angeles

It’s about to get hot.  In the next few days, weather in Los Angeles will heat up to over 100 degrees. That’s 38 degrees celsius for many of our international travelers.  While it’s going to be warm here, our neighboring Palm Springs (about 2 hours east) will hit a staggering 120 degrees.  Typically our heat is dry, but some clouds are predicted, so it can be a bit muggy with the humidity, but nothing compared to areas typically warm and humid like New York, Hawaii and Florida. This current forecast is somewhat rare for June, but can be the norm in July, August and September. What to do on a hot weather day in Los Angeles?  If your hotel or

What Month Has the Best Weather to Visit Los Angeles?

Regarding the weather, when is the best month to visit Los Angeles?  We’re not meteorologists, but as natives or long-time residents, we say ANYTIME. Los Angeles averages under 15 inches of rain a year. Our “rainy” season is typically from December to May.  We even escaped the much-predicted El Nino this year, with the bulk of any moisture staying up in Northern California.  We are fortunate enough though to have had a wee bit of rain which has kept our local mountain ranges nice and green and filled with wild flowers. If you’re about to visit Los Angeles, we are about to enter our yearly marine layer period.  Many first time visitors confuse this with smog. Smog is something completely

Hollywood Studio Tours and the Opening of Harry Potter

It’s officially open! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter had their massive star-studded grand opening yesterday, April 7th, 2016. Plan ahead and expect crowds. Obviously, weekdays should be better than weekends. Glitterati Tours is often asked if we have access to get inside the legendary lots to provide studio tours. The answer is no. All the studios that provide tours have their own professional guides and docents. They all do an amazing job, and we’ve listed a few of the most popular studio tours below. We remind guests that once inside the gates of these amazing venues, one doesn’t need a private tour company on standby collecting hourly rates. Again, studio guides take over, and at places like Universal, much
