Haunted Tours of Beverly Hills and Hollywood covering the most popular scandals

Glitterati Tours of Beverly Hills has blogged in the past about things to do in Los Angeles during October and the Halloween season.  Our friends at Discover Los Angeles recently compiled their own list.  It’s a fantastic overview of the many opportunities for visitors to experience a creative city during one of our biggest seasons. This is the time of year when our “Underbelly L.A.” tour is most popular.  It covers the famous suicides, scandals, murders and notorious venues around Los Angeles, Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

Scary Things to do in Los Angeles in October

Hard to believe that fall is just around the corner when we still have 90 degree days here in mid-September. October is a very exciting month in Los Angeles.  Some of the activities:  Universal Studios has Halloween Horror Nights, Knott’s Berry Farm turns into Knott’s Scary Farm, and West Hollywood shuts down Santa Monica Boulevard for their Costume Carnaval. Glitterati Tours has a tour called “Underbelly L.A.,” and it’s especially popular this time of year.  We concentrate on the scandals, murders, deaths and suicides that made international headlines.  We also explore a few of our local cemeteries, as well as the filming locations of a handful of the classic scary films. For more information, and to reserve your plot, visit Glitterati

Reviews for Glitterati Private Tours of Los Angeles, Hollywood and Beverly Hills

Thanks to our guests, as well as the concierges and travel agents, that have flooded our email inbox, travel sites, and social media with rave reviews.  It gives my guides and I great pleasure in providing private sightseeing tours of Los Angeles and acting as ambassadors for our amazing city!  Following is a small sample of reviews: I’m a Hollywood history nerd – consequently, I want to see the real thing.  Real homes, real studios, real sites, and real information.   As I explored other tours – I was constantly being diverted from what I wanted in a tour to what they wanted to show me.  With Glitterati – I was listened to and then got what I wanted in

A rare opportunity to step inside Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills

Quite often during our celebrity and movie star homes tours of Beverly Hills, we visit the stunning Greystone Mansion.  It’s a gem of a park maintained by Beverly Hills, and guests are allowed to walk the grounds and get up close to this enormous mansion.  It’s rare that guests are allowed inside.  Several times a year, visitors have the opportunity to view the former home of the Doheny family, by way of an interior design showcase, or the always popular, Concours d’Elegance.  Check out the latest showcase to get behind these legendary walls. The Manor:  Murder and Madness at Greystone August 1st – 3rd, 8th – 9th, 15th – 17th, 24th |   6:00 PM Sharp Greystone welcomes Theatre 40 back

Tour Companies in Los Angeles: Open top versus enclosed vehicles

If you’ve ever been to Los Angeles, particularly the Hollywood area, you’ll see dozens of open top vans and buses used for sightseeing tours.  In the summertime, there are literally hundreds of them making their way down the Sunset Strip.  Some guests love them, while others don’t like being exposed to the elements.  While they do provide incredible views, you’ll often see visitors draped in blankets in the winter or lathered in sunscreen in the summer.  At Glitterati Tours, we only use enclosed SUV’s and luxury custom vans for our private Los Angeles tours.  We feel, and our guests agree, that this is truly the most comfortable and discreet way to tour Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

Grammy Weekend Parties in Los Angeles

It’s Grammy weekend in Los Angeles, and before Sunday’s big show, expect dozens of parties around the city.  Two of the most anticipated and desired involve Clive Davis and Jay- Z. Clive Davis throws his annual party (He’s been doing this for over 30 years) the night before the Grammy telecast at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.  This was the same party in 2009 that Chris Brown and Rihanna attended together, and made headlines after they left.  This years A-list attendees include Jimmy Iovine, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson, Sean Puffy Combs, Cee Lo Green, Tony Bennett, Quincy Jones, Miley Cyrus, Diana Krall, and Elvis Costello. Jay-Z, musician and chief executive of Roc Nation, will host a Saturday brunch tomorrow at Soho
