Looking for things to do in Los Angeles during summer? The list is endless, but we also have a few pointers to make sure you get the most out of our city during your stay. Of course, it’s the busiest time of year and you could be competing with countless other visitors looking for the same activities during July and August. If you’re planning a weekend beach day at any of the local L.A. county beaches such as Malibu, Santa Monica or Venice, it’s best to pick a spot or two and just make it your base. Traffic going up the coast along Pacific Coast Highway, and certainly anything near the pier, could be incredibly busy. If possible, make your
The InterContinental Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles
The InterContinental Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles is located at The Wilshire Grand Center. At 1,100 feet, it’s the tallest building not only in Los Angeles and California, but the tallest west of the Mississippi River. For years, the nearby U.S. Bank Tower had the distinction of the tallest building in L.A. at about 1,018 feet. You have to go up 70 floors just to hit the main lobby of The Intercontinental. It’s here where you’ll find the friendly front desk and concierge staff, as well as an inviting bar, which is buzzing with guests, as well as locals unwinding during/after work. One floor down on the 69th, dine and drink at incredible spots like Dekkadance and Sora. Of course

Trejo’s Tacos at Farmers Market L.A.
Where do the locals go in Los Angeles for great food? It’s a question all of us at Glitterati Tours hear all the time from guests taking our private tours of Hollywood and Beverly Hills. There’s many answers to the question, but The Original Farmers Market always tops our list. Not only is it a famous landmark (going strong since 1934), but it’s also located adjacent to the equally popular, The Grove L.A., with even more dining and shopping options. This is actually our #1 meeting location for guests coming in from Santa Monica, Newport Beach, Long Beach, San Pedro, or other locations. It’s perfectly centered and gives visitors plenty of parking and a great location to dine/shop before or
Things to Do for Cinco de Mayo in Los Angeles
Los Angeles doesn’t let any events slide by without a proper celebration, and Cinco De Mayo is no exception. All over the city, vendors, venues, restaurants, and parks alike will have their own celebrations going on for the day… as if we needed an excuse to eat more tacos and sip on tequila… Here are a few of the events around town to check out this Sunday! Cinco de Mayo at the Coliseum The spot where sports fans and history buffs alike can appreciate the venue. Where Should I Stay When Visiting Los Angeles?
If you’ve never been to our city, remember that it’s a huge spread out area covering over 500 square miles. There are 4 million people in the City of Los Angeles, and just over 10 million in the county. Los Angeles County includes places like Long Beach to the south, Malibu to the west, Lancaster to the north, and Pomona to the east. Picking a place to stay is going to be your biggest decision when coming to L.A. You want to chart out your things to do list in Los Angeles when choosing your lodging. Do you want to be at the beach during your stay? Are you attending conventions or business meetings in Downtown L.A.? Or are you
Jazz Nights at LACMA in Hollywood
Get your picnic baskets ready! Spring has sprung and summer is fast approaching which means one thing – a Glitterati Tours favorite is coming back – Jazz Nights at LACMA Hollywood (Los Angeles County Museum of Art!) While we may not get blasted with snow like the northern States, chilly California evenings are turning into beautiful sunset nights and the city doesn’t like to sleep anymore. Enjoy your Friday evenings with a free jazz concert on the grounds. Located just behind the Los Angeles iconic Urban Light exhibit, you will find a perfect relaxing evening at the museum from sunup to sundown. What Are The Best Casinos in Los Angeles?
What are the best casinos in Los Angeles, and is gambling legal? Absolutely. In Los Angeles county, look for some major card rooms that specialize in tournament Texas Hold’em, Omahi Hi-Lo, 21 No Bust Blackjack, Pai Gow Poker, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em (a personal favorite, considering we’ve seen many major jackpots paid-out), Limit Hold’em, Pai Gow Tiles, Baccarat, Chinese Poker, Crazy 4 Poker, and so many others. Of course, these selections will be dispersed amongst the most popular casinos. Most are located just south of Downtown Los Angeles. They include The Bicycle Club, Hustler Casino, The Gardens Casino, and Commerce Casino. If Las Vegas style casino gambling is your deal, you will have to head out further east towards
Brunch at République Los Angeles
You didn’t do your trip to Los Angeles if you didn’t do a solid brunch. While the city has plenty of great food options, the one thing that we certainly do perfectly is brunch. Recently a few of us here with the Glitterati gang found the need for some solid pastry and brunch food, but were a little short on time. Luckily, one of L.A.’s best French restaurants transforms on Saturday and Sunday mornings/early afternoons into a more casual (but no less delicious), brunch spot. Republique is known for its French food, bread, and pastries (DELICIOUS pastries), and their brunch definitely does not disappoint. To accommodate their many hungry guests, there is no reservation setting for their brunch. Instead, Republique
