Artisan Alley, Petting Zoo and More on Gilmore Lane!

All Weekend, Free

From 12-5pm, visit Artisan Alley, a midway of skilled craftspeople and demonstrations featuring wool spinning, leather and pumpkin carving, basket weaving, flintknapping (arrowhead making) and more.  Be sure to stop by the horse corral to watch our live horseshoeing demonstrations at 1:30 & 4pm each day and take home your own free horseshoe souvenir!

You’ll also find farm fresh produce from local farmers.  And, just added,  Soledad Goats will be selling their fresh goat cheese and will be doing live cheese making demonstrations at 2:30 & 4:30pm each day.  Stop by and say hi to Hope the friendly goat and learn more about their animal rescue program.

The Great American Petting Zoo is back with lots of fun for the kiddies.  Visit their animal-friendly petting zoo from 11am-7pm and get up close with sheep, goats, pigs, llamas and more!  Agventure Play Land features farm-based activities where youngsters can build a scarecrow, milk a cow, rope a steer, romp in a corn box and play ’til the cows come home.

Great Shows, Live Music & Pie-Eating Contests!

All Weekend, Free

Fall Festival will be filled with great country, western swing, bluegrass, and banjo music all weekend.  Join us on Friday, October 17 to kick things off with a performance by rockabilly greats, Pearl Harbour, from 7-9pm.

On Saturday, the whole family will enjoy two special performances on the Market Plaza by the Bob Baker Marionettes at 12 & 1:30pm.  The Jug or Nots follow from 5-7pm with their traditional acoustic American music from the 1920s and 30s on period instruments including cigar box guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, and kitchen utensils.  RT n’ The 44s kick things off on the West Patio at 3:30pm and Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys close the night with their upbeat, toe-tappin, swingin’ rockabilly and American roots music from 6:30-9pm.

Join us Sunday for Sheriff Pickett’s Stories of the West, a rootin’ tootin’ cowboy show complete with music, storytelling and Sheriff badges for all kids (12 & 1:30pm).  The day’s musical acts span bluegrass, old-time country, hillbilly bop and country rock with performances by Rocky Neck Bluegrass Band, The Podunk Poets, The SideWynders and Merle Jagger.

And, we can’t forget about our must-see pie-eating contests.  Whether you watch from the crowds or are brave enough to compete at this “no-hands” contest, this is something you won’t want to miss!  Pie-eating contests take place at 3pm each day.  Bring your cameras!

All activities are free!

Many of the Los Angeles tours conducted by Glitterati Tours can include the Original Farmers Market.
