Happy New Year from Glitterati Tours of L.A.! We want to thank our past, present, and future guests, concierges, and travel agents for helping to make Glitterati Tours the #1 Tour Company on TripAdvisor for Beverly Hills.
2018 was no different than past years, in that we welcomed both domestic guests and international travelers. Name a place in the world, and we’ve probably showcased our city to those visitors…Canada, Australia, Nigeria, Russia, Japan, U.A.E, Kuwait, Brazil, Mexico, Zimbabwe, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Romania, New Zealand…
November was not a good month for California tourism. It can typically be quieter, but this year the state experienced some of the worst fires on record. This included the devastating Paradise Fire up north of Los Angeles, as well as the Woolsey Fire, which affected both Ventura and L.A. Counties and reached into communities like Malibu, Westlake Village and Calabasas. Most communities are slowly re-building, but it will take years. In just Malibu alone, they are planning intermittent road closures along Pacific Coast Highway to rebuild lost structures, replace destroyed signage and utility polls, and most importantly, shore up the hillside to prevent landslides.
December too, started off slow, but as usual, the end of the month for us and most venues throughout Los Angeles sell out with countless visitors, as well as folks in town for the massive Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game in neighboring Pasadena. Every year, starting in October, we try to remind guests coming to Beverly Hills and Hollywood over the holidays to book everything early. This goes for hotels, studio tours, restaurants, museums, and private tours. Just the last 5 days alone, we’ve had to turn down dozens of guests looking for last-minute sightseeing excursions.
We’re looking forward to a fantastic 2019, and we wish our friends and visitors a wonderful, prosperous, healthy and safe New Year!
All the best from Jimmy, Lindsay, Dan, Tod, Paul, Colin, Peter and Sherrod.
