Entertaining approximately 18,000 guests per show since 1922, you can easily see why The Hollywood Bowl has reached its legendary status. That’s not even counting the countless legends in the music world that have performed on its stage…everyone from The Beatles, to Elton John, to Billie Holiday. We’re getting close to the time of year where this famous outdoor concert stadium kicks back into high gear.
Opening Night at The Hollywood Bowl
In about a week, look for the popular annual Playboy Jazz Festival on June 8th and 9th. Opening night happens on Saturday, June 15th with John Legend, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and a fireworks display over their iconic shell.

Remember to pack an awesome picnic (after checking for special house rules on specific nights) and enjoy it either in the Bowl or at one of the picnic areas outside the gates. There’s also plenty of food and drink on the premises if you don’t want to cart around a basket of food and bottles of wine. You can even find a handful of local restaurants that can prepare a great box of sandwiches, cheeses and olives.
Most importantly, don’t drive to the Bowl, or attempt to park on connecting streets. It’s best to walk from a nearby location like The Hollywood & Highland Center, or take one of the dozens of shuttle buses to and from the venue.
