The 86th Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade 2017 takes place this Sunday, November 26th, 2017 with Dr. Oz serving as the Grand Marshall.
Mehmet Oz M.D., has won nine Daytime Emmy Awards for his Dr. Oz Show. Previously, he was on for six seasons as the health expert on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Along with Dr. Oz, look for celebrities in the parade like Deidre Hall, Marci Miller, Bryton James, Mishael Morgan. Performers will include The Village People, The Tearaways, Ceelo Green, Band of MerryMakers, Ruben Studdard, and Nick Fradiani. Hosts will be Erik Estrada and Laura McKenzie, along with co-hosts Dean Cain, Garrett Clayton, Elizabeth Stanton and Montel Williams.
Of course there will be equestrians, and plenty of marching bands playing the holiday classics. Santa will close out the parade.
The parade starts at 6PM, with the concert for ticket holders starting at 5PM. The festivities start in the heart of Hollywood on Hollywood Blvd and Orange Drive. The parade will head east to Vine Street, and then west on Sunset Blvd, back to its starting point.
Parking will be available at The Hollywood and Highland Center. There will also be tons of smaller lots around the area, with fees at a premium. The best bet is taking the underground Metro Red Line into Hollywood. The 2 stops that get you directly to the parade route include Hollywood/Vine and Hollywood/Highland.
Along the Hollywood Christmas Parade route, one can dine at hundreds of locations. You’ve got El Compadre, In & Out Burger, Delphine at The W Hotel, Musso and Frank Grill, Cheebo, Electric Owl, The Pie Hole, Dave & Busters, Off Vine, Los Balcones, Chipotle, and so much more.
Fun Fact: The Hollywood Christmas Parade was formally called The Santa Claus Lane Parade. It was here in 1946, that Gene Autry came up with the holiday favorite “Here Comes Santa Claus” (Down Santa Claus Lane). He was such a huge part of this city and street, that he’s the only artist to have all 5 category stars on the walk of fame, with Motion Pictures, TV, Radio, Theatre and Recording.
On a non-parade/Marathon/premiere day, Glitterati Tours of Beverly Hills can include all the must-see sights along this famous sightseeing stretch of Hollywood.
