Hotel Spotlight: The Beverly Wilshire Hotel

A legendary property in one of the most recognizable cities in the United States!  The Beverly Wilshire Hotel was completed in 1928.  Its name has changed slightly over the years, and some visitors still refer to it as The Regent Beverly Wilshire.  Since 1992, it’s commonly called A Four Seasons Hotel, Beverly Wilshire (not to be confused with its sister hotel a few blocks away, The Four Seasons Los Angeles Hotel at Beverly Hills).

The Beverly Wilshire Hotel’s guest list is long and impressive.  Notable names include Warren Beatty, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, President Barack Obama, and countless royal families from around the globe.

The hotel sits perfectly centered in the 90210 zip code.  Its intersections include Wilshire Blvd. and Rodeo Drive.  Luxury shopping is endless in the neighborhood, and if you get bogged down with bags, you’re just a short walk to drop them off and have them brought up to your room, only to hit the streets again and reload.  Not only do you have Rodeo Drive, and Via Rodeo, you’ve also got famous storefronts on Camden Drive, Beverly Drive, and Canon Drive.  On Wilshire Boulevard alone, and just yards from the hotel, look for Neiman Marcus, Barney’s NY, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

The hotel has some top notch restaurants.  They include CUT by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, The Blvd, and The Pool Bar & Cafe.  The Blvd. has great sidewalk dining and incredible people-watching with a view up Rodeo Drive.  Perfect for celebrity watching, and catching the rich and famous conducting their daily routines.  This is also a great location for car lovers.  You’ll see endless Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Rolls, Bentleys, and Bugatti’s cruising the intersection.

Of course no post about this hotel could be written without mentioning Pretty Woman.  This hotel is always a favorite photo opportunity for guests taking our Glitterati Tours celebrity homes tour or customized city tour.  The property was used mainly for the exterior shots as Richard Gere’s home away from home. Look for great movie scenes taken along the front of the hotel and up Rodeo Drive.  It was also used as a frequent filming location for HBO’s Entourage, as well as countless other movies and TV shows.

Whether staying here or just swinging by, always check out the amazing lobby and their floral centerpiece and chandelier, especially during the holidays.
