Jazz Nights at LACMA

Get your picnic baskets ready! Spring has sprung and summer is fast approaching which means one (of many) things. Jazz Nights at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) are coming back!

While we may not get blasted with snow like the Northern States, chilly California evenings are turning into beautiful sunset studded nights and the city doesn’t like to sleep anymore. Enjoy your Friday evenings with a free Jazz concert on the grounds. Located just behind the iconic Los Angeles “Urban Lights” public art exhibit, you will find a perfectly relaxing evening at the museum from 6PM to sundown. The venue allows for picnics at their outdoor events, so bring family and friends with a spread to share! The best part? Alcohol is allowed. Bring out your favorite vino.  We recommend a nice white with the hot days.

Jazz Nights at LACMA

Arrive early to pick your spot – it’s a popular event for a reason! LACMA also offers plenty of outdoor art pieces that are perfect for your Los Angeles trip instagram posts. This includes the massive Levitated Mass just a few hundred yards behind the jazz stage.

With over 20 years of Jazz Nights at LACMA, many of L.A.’s best musicians have performed for happy audiences.  Legends like Arturo Sandavol, Kenny Burrell, Les McCann, Billy Childs, Cannonball-Coltrane Project and Wayne Shorter have delighted the over 40,000 annual visitors that attend these musical performances between April and November.

The first Jazz night of the season is on Friday April 27th and features music from Jeff Lorber Fusion. May 4th will have Wendy Smith-Bruné.  Other performers this season will include Alan Pasqua, Lesa Terry, and Andrea Miller.

No tickets necessary (IT’S FREE!) and you can check out this season’s lineup and future updates at the Official LACMA Website.
