Many traveling families contact us here at Glitterati Tours to book kid friendly private tours of Los Angeles. Some just prefer the private touring experience, while others may be concerned about how their young ones will hold up during non-private group tours. Some of the unease comes with the questions: What if we need a potty break, a diaper change, a snack break, a feeding, or just a short stop so the kids can get out their energy?
No worries here. Our guides conduct these tours nearly every day. We are professionals at keeping everybody on board engaged. We have something for everyone between the ages of 1 and 101. With children, we typically let them know about our next destination and what they can expect at that location. This acts as a “bridge” in between sightseeing spots.
All of our cars are stocked with chilled water and snacks, as well as boosters, child seats and infant seats. Just let us know at the time of booking if you require a special seat. We can also provide a scavenger hunt for the kids at no extra charge. This is ideal for kids 8 and under. We provide a short list of unique items to find along our route. For every object spotted, children are awarded a mystery velvet pouch at the end of the tour which contains a small toy, bracelet, or coin.
We’ve done full day tours for families, and the kids have loved every bit of their excursion. However, we’re the first to admit that 3-hours is kind of the sweet spot. This is especially true during the summer months, when our biggest competition is the child’s interest in just getting back to the hotel to dive into a pool.
Let us know if you’d like to book one of our popular tours, and if you have special requests for the kids. It’s a great way to find one’s bearings in our massive city. Then, there’s many things to do that can be self-guided and enjoyed at a more leisurely pace. Just some of the standouts for family outings include Griffith Park attractions (including their observatory), Disney’s El Capitan Theatre, The California Science Center, The La Brea Tar Pits, The Grove, Universal Studios Hollywood, Madame Tussauds Museum, and The L.A. Zoo.
