Los Angeles Family Fun Halloween Activities

We’ve watched as grown-ups over the years have stolen Halloween from the young trick or treaters.  Per Glitterati Tours of Hollywood previous and upcoming posts, most events are centered around the older set that enjoys a great party along with their scares.

Here’s a handful of kid-friendly Halloween activities:

Fall Festival at Farmers Market LA

Fall Festival at Farmers Market LA

Fall Festival at The Original Farmers Market

Join in on the fun on Saturday, October 14, and Sunday, October 15, 2017.  On both days, there will be a petting zoo from 11am-7pm, as well as All Alaskan Pig Races, and Peddle Puller Races by All-Alaskan.  You’ll also find pie eating contests, and Pumpkin Carver Joe in the Plaza.  Throughout the weekend, there will be live music from performers like The Lucky Stars, Doo-Wah Riders, Merle Jagger, Silver Mountain String Bang, The Deltaz, and The Earthworm Ensemble.  Come to this event hungry, for there are dozens and dozens of restaurants throughout The Original Farmers Market LA, along with fresh produce, ice cream kiosks, and candy and fudge makers.

Knott’s Spooky Farm

Knott’s Spooky Farm

The real madness happens at night for the older crowd at Knott’s Scary Farm, but the spooky farm is ideal for kids 3-11.  They can go trick or treating, sing and dance along with the stage show in Camp Snoopy, called The Monsters are Coming Charlie Brown, and enjoy Timber Mountain Log Ride: Halloween Hootenanny.  Here, they’ll experience mysterious creatures that live out in the woods, and they’ll pass Calico Coffin Creeper band, and the towns green witch.  This event happens every weekend through October 29th, and Halloween day.

Atwater Village L.A. Trick or Treat

Atwater Village Trick or Treat

Atwater Village Trick or Treating on The Boolevard

One of Glitterati Tours guides favorite things to do each year, is volunteer as crossing guards for the local Atwater Village Trick or Treat on The Boolevard event.  This is a wonderful and safe alternative for parents looking to avoid going door to door on Halloween night with their children.  On Friday, October 27th, the merchants along Glendale Blvd pass out candy, toys and treats to 1000’s of children decked out as their favorite little monster, super hero, princess or pirate.  This takes place between 430pm-6PM.  (Atwater Village is just east of Hollywood and south of Glendale).  Get there early for parking, and enjoy one of dozens of cafes, coffee shops and restaurants to dine or grab a cold one.
