Los Angeles Haunted Hayride in Griffith Park

Hard to believe that we’re already 1/3 of our way into the most incredible time to be in Los Angeles… the month of October!  There’s so many things to do and experience during the 31+ day celebration of Halloween (most events are now starting mid-September, and ending early November).

One of our local favorites is right here in the Central Park of Los Angeles, Griffith Park.  It’s called the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, and it’s been going strong for 10 years. Just the location is enough to send shivers up your spine, for it’s in the abandoned zoo section of the park (the new L.A. Zoo is just a short distance away).

This multi-acre venue is loaded with the creepy and spooky.  Take in Purgatory, where you can become part of interactive shows and take a ride on the Scary-Go-Round with the undead horses. Visit their Bootique or see their on-site psychic.

The Haunted Hayride is certainly their star attraction, and is a must at this venue.  Rumor has it that this year will feature clowns haunting the woods and that they will unleash their bag of tricks on visitors.

The House of Shadows will undoubtingly confuse and disorient all those who enter.

Like going door-to-door to Trick or Treat?  Think again.  As you explore these neighborhoods, and knock on their doors, you get much more than candy.

This annual Los Angeles Haunted Hayride in Griffith Park is not for the young ones.  They recommend an audience of at least 8 years of age and older.

There are some concessions on hand, but we LOVE exiting the park after a full night of scares and going to local bars that have decked themselves out for the holiday.  One of our favorites…The Morrison on Los Feliz Blvd.  Have an amazing burger and delicious cocktails while enjoying their amazing Halloween décor.  Hip crowd, and 21+ only up at the bar.

Again, Glitterati Tours L.A. will be updating this blog as much as possible to keep visitors up to date on all-things-Halloween!
