Los Angeles Marathon 2017
It’s that time of year again, when we get to show off our amazing March weather, and city to the world. The Los Angeles Marathon 2017 is just around the corner. This year, the Los Angeles Marathon takes place on Sunday, March 19th. Online registration closes on March 15th, so it’s not too late to join over 25,000 other athletes, from all 50 states and over 60 different countries, in reaching your personal goals.
The stadium to the sea course starts at Dodgers Stadium with 4 different start times:
630AM –Wheelchairs
632AM –Handcycles
645AM –Elite Women
655AM – Elite Men and Full Field
The course showcases the best of Los Angeles with runners hitting Downtown LA areas like Olvera Street, City Hall, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, and The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
From DTLA, the marathon takes runners through hip neighborhoods like Echo Park, Silverlake and Hollywood. The Hollywood stretch involves famous landmarks like Capitol Records, Hollywood and Vine, the Walk of Fame, and Grauman’s Chinese Theater. After Hollywood Blvd, the participants veer south one block to the Sunset Strip, before hitting the creative community of West Hollywood and Santa Monica Blvd, which is a stretch of Route 66.
It then gets fancy, as runners enter Beverly Hills and dash down Rodeo Drive. From here, they make their way through communities like Century City, Westwood, and West L.A., before the mad sprint through Palisades Park, and the finish line at the world-famous Santa Monica Pier.
Due to the many street closures, we get to take the morning off and enjoy cheering on participants. We start conducting tours about 130PM, once the roads re-open.
