Mardi Gras at The Grove Los Angeles

We never need an excuse to stop by The Grove and Farmers Market in the heart of Los Angeles. There is always something to do or see here. It’s the perfect spot for locals and visitors to shop, eat, and just enjoy a relaxing afternoon. It never gets boring because of the constant changes in decor and events that are designed to bring the community together. This March is no different as they kick of the new month with a classic event – Mardi Gras!

The Original Farmers Market L.A.

While we are nowhere near New Orleans, the Farmers Market always puts on a family friendly version of the celebration. Beads are flying, activities are plenty, and live music plays to bring the feeling of the weekend with a Southern California Twist. The event kicks off Saturday, March 2nd and rolls through Sunday. A quick break for some Monday madness, but comes back for the true Fat Tuesday on the 5th.

One of the weekend events to highlight is the “Mutti Gras” pet parade. Everyone knows Los Angeles loves their dogs, and you will definitely be able to see how much they do when they are dressed to the nines and paraded along the streets of The Grove. We can’t help it, the fur babies are adorable!

If you don’t find yourself wanting to dress up your fur baby, or don’t have one, feel free to bring your human kids along for some fun. Activities such as queen and king crown decorating, creating shakers to play along with the live music, and dancing with the bands will keep the kids busy. You may even have time to sneak a few drinks while they get their craft on!

As always the beads and decorations will provide that Instagrammable shot we all secretly crave. If you need a break you can always pop into a restaurant for some good eats, or a store for some good old retail therapy.

Below is a list of activites, but definitely check out their site to keep up with contests and any scheduling changes they may have!
