June gloom is lifting and summer is here in Los Angeles. Nights are staying warmer later.
Between now and September, enjoy outdoor venues in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills for music and entertainment.
Some of our recommendations:
-See a movie at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
-Catch a concert, live theater, or sing-a-long at The Hollywood Bowl (18,000 seats), The Greek Theatre (5,800 seats), or The Ford Amphitheatre (1,200 seats under the stars).
-See a movie on Sundays, or catch a hot musical act at Beverly Canon Gardens in Beverly Hills, next to the beautiful Montage Hotel. (Heads up — The Tokens will be playing this intimate venue on July 3rd).
-Catch live acts all summer long at The Grove and The Original Farmer’s Market.
-Sunday Sessions at Grand Park in Downtown Los Angeles.
-Twilight Concerts on The Santa Monica Pier.
…and of course, our local Sunset Strip Music Festival (the granddaddy of outdoor venues in Los Angeles for rock ‘n roll fans).
From our friends at Discover LA:
Now in its seventh year, the Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF) is expanding to a two-day street festival, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20 and Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 on the legendary Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. SSMF will kick off with a tribute to a Sunset Strip icon on Friday, Sept. 19. Last year, SSMF honored iconic rock goddess Joan Jett with the Elmer Valentine Award for her contributions to the Sunset Strip. On Saturday and Sunday, SSMF will feature multiple outdoor stages, vendors and interactive experiences throughout the day and into the night. In addition, dozens of musical artists of different genres will perform in venues along the strip such as The Roxy Theatre, Viper Room, Whisky a Go Go, and House of Blues Los Angeles, among others.
