If you’ve ever been to the NoMad Hotel in the Flatiron District, you know what a special place it is in the heart of New York.  Many know of it because of its incredible ambience, fantastic rooms, great service, a good stiff cocktail and the delicious roasted black truffle chicken.

We’ve been missing out on the West Coast until now.  Sunday, January 21st, 2018 marked the grand opening of NoMad Hotel Los Angeles.  If you haven’t been to DTLA (Downtown Los Angeles) in the last few years, you haven’t been.  Even us folks that were born and raised in L.A. are shocked each and every time we go to this area.  It’s a hotbed of fine dining, hip bars, museums, music venues, and amazing hotels.  The NoMad Los Angeles is the latest in this incredible trend.  It’s located at Olive and 7th.  The historic building now housing the NoMad is called Giannini Place.  It was built in the 1920’s and served as the headquarters for the Bank of Italy.  They’ve kept many of the neoclassical touches, but also updated this landmark structure with a contemporary California feel.

Prior to opening, Glitterati Tours of Beverly Hills received a VIP red carpet preview tour of this property.  It’s amazing!  No detail has been overlooked.  One can even walk through the original massive bank vault to enter the restrooms.

Just off their warm lobby, the room opens up to an amazing two-story dining room.  Look for the design work of Jaques Garcia in these stunning bars, lounges and dining areas.  Just like New York, the restaurant is lead by Chef Daniel Humm, along with Will Guidara.  In fact, one can even find a version of that NY favorite — roast chicken for two, with black truffle and brioche stuffing.

Plan accordingly and enjoy the Giannini Bar, the coffee bar, The Mezzanine (for formal dining), The Lobby (for more casual dining options) and the 5,200 square foot rooftop for a cocktail and incredible views of DTLA (for guests staying at the hotel only).
