The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire L.A. in Irwindale, California
____________________
We love Los Angeles, but if you find yourself wanting a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and are looking for a brief escape to simpler times, than you may want to take a day trip to The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire this Spring. Every year, the Renaissance Faire sets up just past Pasadena in Irwindale, California. This is a short 40 minute drive from the general Hollywood area.
Spreading out over 20 acres, there is no shortage of entertainment for your day. The faire has 13 separate stages for entertainment as well as plenty of vendors for all your favorite renaissance-esque era tokens to take home. There are not many places you get a chance to see knights in full armor joust while a queen and her court dazzle you with their wit. Parades throughout the day as well as places to stop and make your own crafts will keep you busy during your stay. If you truly want to immerse yourself in the experience, feel free to dress in the garb of the era, for all are encouraged to play!
The faire also keeps things fresh every weekend with different themes. From Pirates to Steampunk, there is always something fun to spice up the weekend. You can check out this year’s theme weekends here: http://renfair.com/socal/special-events/#pub-crawl. Also, be sure to check out their food vendors and a chance to buy tickets to the faire’s official pub crawl! Food favorites include the fresh artichokes, bacon wrapped Jalapeño peppers, and the broiled leg of duck.
The Renaissance Faire runs every Saturday and Sunday at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, 15501 E. Arrow Highway, Irwindale, CA from April 7 through May 20, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.. Don’t forget to buy your tickets in advance at the Renaissance Faire L.A. official website.
