September Things to Do in Los Angeles

September Things to Do in Los Angeles

Summer is slowly on the way out the door — even though temperatures hit near record highs in Los Angeles today.  Some of the best months to come to the city are September and October.  Schools are back in session, there is less traffic, and the famous landmarks around Hollywood and Beverly Hills are less-crowded.

Of course, there’s also the must-see spots during your stay.  For museum lovers, make your way to The Getty Center in Brentwood, The Getty Villa in Malibu, The Broad in Downtown Los Angeles, LACMA, MOCA, The Griffith Park Observatory, The Petersen Automotive Museum and The La Brea Tar Pits.

For shoppers, hit The Grove LA, The Farmers Market, Sunset Plaza, The Beverly Center, Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, Westfield Century City, The Third Street Promenade, Robertson Boulevard, Melrose Avenue, Rodeo Drive, and The Fairfax District.

El Coyote Mexican Restaurant

Dining options are way too numerous to mention, but some of our favorites include Mastro’s Steakhouse, The Polo Lounge, Pinches Tacos, El Coyote, El Compadre, The Grill on the Alley, and Craig’s (great celebrity spotting location).

With temperatures dropping (hopefully), take a wonderful hike in Runyon Canyon, Griffith Park, and the hundreds of other hiking trails stretching from Hollywood to Malibu.

There’s still time to catch amazing shows throughout Sept. and Oct. at The Hollywood Bowl, and the very popular Louis Vuitton X pop-up museum on Rodeo Drive continues through November.

Take in a wonderful studio tour.  Studios like Paramount, Warner Bros. and Universal offer up amazing behind-the-scenes backlot tours.
