Enjoy a Staycation in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills

As the current COVID-19 fears grip the world, and more travel restrictions are popping up daily, there’s plenty of options for Californians to minimize their exposure to the coronavirus. We are getting into our very busy Spring Break period, and we’ve already heard from some of our guests that are concerned about canceled travel arrangements.  This goes for those arriving by cruise ship, planes and trains.  Most aren’t so worried about the virus itself, but rather getting quarantined or stranded. That being said, many of our most recent bookings are from those in our own backyard that originally had more ambitious travel plans, but have decided to pack the family into a car, travel up or down the coast, and

Los Angeles Area Hotels

Always one of the biggest questions for someone coming to our city is about lodging at Los Angeles area hotels and where to stay.  There’s no easy answer, but looking at maps prior to your visit can certainly help in the decision making process.  We remind visitors that Los Angeles is a gigantic city.  On top of that, there are many cities within the city.  They include places like Santa Monica, Malibu and West Hollywood. Downtown Los Angeles is growing in their many offerings with food and culture.  Here, you’ll be close to the convention center, Grand Park, Union Station, L.A. Live and The Staples Center. A few hotels in this area include The Intercontinental, Nomad Hotel, and The Ace Hotel.

Viceroy L’Ermitage Hotel Beverly Hills

The Viceroy L’Ermitage Hotel Beverly Hills is located between the famous shopping streets of Rodeo Drive on the west, and Robertson Blvd. on the east. There’s also a handful of other amazing streets in the general area, like Canon Drive.  Canon is known for famous restaurants like Spago by Wolfgang Puck, Mastro’s Steakhouse, Il Pastaio, and Via Alloro.  If you go the opposite direction and find yourself on Robertson, grab a lunch at The Ivy, Petrossian, or The Henry. The Viceroy is a modern luxury hotel and has been in existence since 1975.  It has always been a favorite of celebrities, including the late Liz Taylor and Richard Burton.  It’s located on the beautiful tree-lined street of Burton Way, which also

Visit the Friendly Cities of L.A. and Beverly Hills

Visit the friendly cities of L.A. and Beverly Hills! Certainly, this has been one of the oddest summer holiday travel seasons on record for Los Angeles.  We’ve been in the business as Glitterati Tours for just over a decade, and in the industry for closer to 20 years.  Not since the early 90’s with the riots in L.A., the much-televised O.J. Simpson trial, and the Northridge earthquake, have we seen such an impact on tourism in the city. Normally, we’d be sold out every single day during July and August, however, this 2019 is very hit and miss.  Some days tours trickle in, and other days we turn down about a dozen tours. We’ve heard from hotels, car rental companies, and

The Best Sushi in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills

The cities of Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills have no shortage of outstanding sushi restaurants.  They range from the all-you-can-eat, to the money-is-no-object dining experiences. Some of the most popular spots include strip mall no-frills storefronts. This includes a few of our favorite locations.  Look into Sushi Park at 8539 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.  This spot is pure fish, with no rice in sight.  Specialties include the blue crab hand roll, toro and uni. Because this spot pushes right up against the Hollywood Hills, it’s also a favorite of celebrities. Ventura Boulevard, in and around Studio City, is home to literally dozens of sushi restaurants block after block.  Sushi Katsu-ya Studio City is our go-to for a consistently great

The Grill on The Alley Restaurant in Beverly Hills

One of our most important jobs in conducting luxury private tours of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, is keeping up to date on the hottest, hippest restaurants and bars (as much as our paychecks will allow).  Sometimes, we focus on the up-and-coming spots, because that’s what many of our guests have heard about.  The problem with this approach is that we can miss a gem of a restaurant that’s been in our own backyard for decades. The Grill on The Alley Restaurant in Beverly Hills is one of them.  For years, we’ve told our many VIP’s about this spot which is just steps from Rodeo Drive, without ever trying it firsthand.  That all changed the other night, and we may

Where Are The Fires in California?

First, thank you to the dozens of past guests, and the domestic and international travel agents that have reached out to check on our safety during the fires.  Fortunately, we are safe, and our heart goes out to those in the affected areas.  No major fires have hit the general Hollywood or Beverly Hills areas.  When one sees the news, it can look like the whole state is up in flames. This time of year is typically fire season in California.  It’s when the brush in the hills and mountains are at their driest, and when the Santa Ana winds can kick up.  In fact, last year at about this same time (and into December) California had the Skirball Fire,
