When is Award Season in Los Angeles?

We’re barely into the new year, and award season is officially kicking off in Los Angeles.  We have back to back ceremonies throughout the city. In just a few short hours, we have The Golden Globes, presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.  This year’s ceremony will be co-hosted by Sandra Oh, and Andy Samberg. As always, look for the major players in both TV and film.  Special awards this year will go to Jeff Bridges for the annual Cecil B. DeMille Award for film achievement, and Carol Burnett for the annual award for TV achievement.  The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills will once again be home to this red carpet affair. Oscar Parties in Hollywood and Beverly Hills

It’s that time of year when actors and actresses survive on a lima bean per day to look their best for the Academy Awards and the many Oscar parties in Hollywood and Beverly Hills.  The actual ceremony is on Sunday, February 26, 2017, but look for events all week long. Slim to none, you’ll get close to your favorite stars on Hollywood Blvd, as seating in the bleachers for the red carpet arrivals is already maxed out with their online lottery to fill approximately 700 seats. Security is extremely tight in the general area of the Dolby Theatre, with road closures blocks away on each side of the venue.  Because the Governors Ball takes place just above the Dolby, this

The office for Glitterati Tours is a short walk to Hollywood Boulevard.  Helicopters have been flying over for days now watching the action for the huge Star Wars premiere this evening.  A few of us took a stroll down the boulevard to check out the set up.  Every 20 feet there are metal detectors screening visitors and attendees.                   This same stretch is used for the Academy Awards every year, and the street preparation for this Star Wars premiere exceeds the Oscars by a long shot. Privacy tarps are everywhere, and a white tent stretches 4 city blocks.     Red carpets stretch along Hollywood Boulevard and spider their way into Grauman’s

Named for President Theodore Roosevelt, the hotel opened in 1927 and was financed by a group that included Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford and Sid Grauman. The ceremony was held in the hotel’s Blossom Ballroom, where 270 guests each paid $5 per ticket to
