The Best Experiences in Los Angeles

The Best Experiences in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica _____________ As we approach one of the busiest seasons of the year for visitors to Southern California, we want to make sure guests truly get the most out of their stay. When seeking out experiences, excursions, guided hikes, bike tours, sightseeing tours, and transportation, make sure your choice is reputable. Nowadays, just about everyone is a “professional.” Dig deep online and make sure to read the fine print on offerings. There’s no doubt that there are some fantastic options that will offer up unique, one-of-a-kind experiences, but questions to ask: How long have they been in business? Are they licensed? Is there insurance coverage? What is their background in

Visit Griffith Park in Los Angeles

Coming to our city?  One must visit Griffith Park in Los Angeles …. or at least part of it.  At just under 5000 acres, the park is one of the largest urban parks in the United States, and North America.  Griffith Park in Los Angeles is about 5 times the size of Central Park in New York! Approximately 3000 acres were donated to the city by Griffith J. Griffith in 1896, and it’s continued to grow in size ever since.  All of us native Angelenos take advantage of the numerous hiking trails throughout the park.  Most are dog-friendly, as are most things in Los Angeles.  Many of the best hiking trails start at or near the gem of the park,

Hollywood Toys and Costumes for Halloween

With so much happening in Los Angeles this spooky season, Glitterati Custom Tours of Beverly Hills has to say a few words about Hollywood Toys and Costumes for Halloween.  By far, our favorite store in L.A. for costumes, make-up, props, accessories, masks, wigs, and everything else one must have to put together the perfect outfit for Halloween parties and venues. If you happen to be lucky enough to be visiting our city during this festive season, look no further than Hollywood Toys and Costumes.  It’s one-stop shopping for folks attending events like the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval on October 31st. Here’s just a tidbit from their website of what Hollywood Toys and Costumes has to offer in terms of masks:

Fall and Winter Tours of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills

Wow!  What a summer for Los Angeles and Beverly Hills with Glitterati Tours.  We were nearly booked solid from mid-June through mid-August.  Many days, we turned down about a dozen tours from referrals, international travel agents, and our concierge family at many of the local 5-star hotels throughout Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Bel Air and Santa Monica.  August has been incredibly unpredictable.  Thus far, in like a lion and out like a lamb.  As we write this, the end of August has dropped off we pre-bookings.  As school schedules change year by year, this inevitably changes the tourism season.   Years ago, it was almost guaranteed that September 15th was a back-to-school date nationwide.  Not the case anyone. This summer,

9021Pho on Sunset Boulevard

After a long day of touring Los Angeles, our tour guides’ favorite delivery is 9021PHO.  Eat in, take out, or ask for delivery.  If you haven’t been lately, make sure to try out their new menu.  While there are several locations, we especially love the venue on Sunset Blvd.  It’s conveniently located between Los Angeles and West Hollywood, and walking distance from Sunset Strip hotels like The Andaz, The London West Hollywood Hotel, The Mondrian, Best Western Sunset Strip, The Standard and Sunset Tower.  The building where they’re located is also popular for AirBnB visitors. Seeing a screening at The Director’s Guild of America?  This is a convenient and delicious choice for a quick meal. We love their pho of

Book Your Los Angeles and Beverly Hills Tours Now for Summer

Glitterati Tours just finished up a record breaking Spring Break for Beverly Hills tours and private excursions around Los Angeles.  As a smaller tour company with a #1 rating on TripAdvisor for Activities and Tours, we were swamped with requests.  There was many days in March that we weren’t able to accommodate the large number of last minute requests for private Beverly Hills tours.  A reminder that we work not only with guest referrals, but also VIP agents, travel agents, and of course, our LACA (Los Angeles Concierge Association).  Quite a few bookings come from these 5-star hotels throughout Hollywood, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, as well as several beach properties down in Santa Monica. While this post is somewhat

Hollywood Bowl 2016 Calendar

The Hollywood Bowl 2016 calendar promises to have something for everyone.  Whether you’re a local or a tourist, the Bowl is a must-visit venue.  It really doesn’t matter who’s performing…it’s more about enjoying a warm summer Southern California night with 18,000 other music lovers.  It’s one of the few venues that allows guests on most nights to bring in their picnic baskets, wine and beverages.  There’s even off-site areas with tables to set up your feast. As always, take one of the many shuttles to the Hollywood Bowl, or walk if possible.  There is stacked parking, and it’s not recommended to get stuck in this jam of vehicles, especially after the show.  There are local businesses that open up their

What and Where is Hancock Park, Los Angeles

Most people only hear about Hancock Park because of President Obama’s frequent trips to this extremely affluent community.  As Obama lands today in L.A. to tape The Ellen Show, his motorcade will then make its way over the hill (we’re hoping he takes the Marine One helicopter and lands it at The Wilshire Country Club) and off to producer Danny Rose’s party for a fundraiser. Danny Rose is the Executive Producer for the TV show “Scorpion.”   Even John Legend is expected to perform. In the past, Obama has been to this same neighborhood for a party thrown by Shonda Rhimes (producer of Gray’s Anatomy, and Scandal), John Wells (producer of E.R. and West Wing), and the home of the
