Things to Do for Cinco de Mayo in Los Angeles

Los Angeles doesn’t let any events slide by without a proper celebration, and Cinco De Mayo is no exception. All over the city, vendors, venues, restaurants, and parks alike will have their own celebrations going on for the day… as if we needed an excuse to eat more tacos and sip on tequila… Here are a few of the events around town to check out this Sunday!

Cinco de Mayo at the Coliseum

The spot where sports fans and history buffs alike can appreciate the venue. The Coliseum will have food trucks, games for kids, a beer garden turned into a “tequila garden” full of cocktails, and celebrity MC’s throughout the event. If that’s not enough of a draw, head down for the raffles! We recommend hopping on the Metro if you decide to go to the event. Parking can get crazy – but the event is worth the travel. Starts at 7 p.m.!

Mezcalero DTLA

Another DTLA event worth the trip! Mezcalero DTLA will be celebrating the night with a DJ, art, and all the traditional festivities.

El Compadre LA Flaming Margaritas

Lucky Strike Hollywood

For those wanting to celebrate the day in true tequila fashion, Lucky Strike Bowling in Hollywood may be your spot. Their 5th annual Rock n’ Roll Margarita contest will be a treat for anyone who considers themselves a true margarita fan. We recommend bowling a game before you start with the drinks and one after. Tequila could be the trick to that perfect 300 score!

Santa Monica Cinco de Mayo Block Party

If you find yourself unable to wait until Sunday – hit up Santa Monica on the 4th for their annual block party. End the day with a pub crawl along the beaches, or head to bed early and get up for their Cinco de Mayo 5k, 10k, 15k, and half marathon. If you decide to run we recommend maybe holding off on the tequila until after.  Cap off your Santa Monica Cinco de Mayo weekend with a margarita mixology class at Margo’s.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
