Touring Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills or Santa Monica in June? Don’t be fooled by our heavy marine layer that develops in the evening and lasts through the following midday. Not to be confused with smog, this heavy layer of clouds is also known as May Gray or June Gloom. Plan accordingly if touring Los Angeles during these months, for the mornings and evenings can be chilly. Typically, these clouds burn off between 12n – 4pm, and you can expect a wonderful sunny afternoon. On the plus side, most Angelenos stay in bed a bit later and are slow to start their day with an overcast morning — which leaves more space on the roads for a touring excursion.
