Where do the locals go in Los Angeles for great food? It’s a question all of us at Glitterati Tours hear all the time from guests taking our private tours of Hollywood and Beverly Hills. There’s many answers to the question, but The Original Farmers Market always tops our list. Not only is it a famous landmark (going strong since 1934), but it’s also located adjacent to the equally popular, The Grove L.A., with even more dining and shopping options. This is actually our #1 meeting location for guests coming in from Santa Monica, Newport Beach, Long Beach, San Pedro, or other locations. It’s perfectly centered and gives visitors plenty of parking and a great location to dine/shop before or after a tour.
The newest addition to the Farmers Market is the wildly popular Trejo’s Tacos. Which brings us back to another question we often hear from guests — “where can we get great Mexican food in Hollywood?” We’ve got a handful of our personal favorites which include Marix Tex Mex Café, El Coyote Café, Yuca’s Tacos on Hillhurst (unbelievable), El Compadre (super fun and hip), and Pinches Tacos on Sunset.
When at Trejo’s Tacos, look for taco favorites like the steak asada, carnitas, beef barbacoa, chicken tikka, fried chicken, Baja fish, spicy shimp, and blackened salmon. Also check out Trejo’s impressive burrito and bowls selection.
There’s also quesadillas, salads, shared plates, and delicious sides like street corn. For those not in the know, it’s corn off the cob with chipotle cream and cotija. Delicious! Who knows? You may even get to meet Hollywood celebrity Danny Trejo!!!!
