Turkey Trots Around Los Angeles

Even in Los Angeles, where the health nuts and fitness/wellness influencers are rampant, we really enjoy our Thanksgiving dinners. It’s the perfect meal to fully kick off the Christmas season! That being said – it wouldn’t be a Los Angeles holiday without some sort of fitness activity to get the blood flowing. Queue all of the Turkey Trots! It’s always sunny and 70 degrees here, so we don’t have an excuse for cold weather to keep us inside.

Los Angeles is a large city – so there are Turkey Trots all over (and all for a good cause) for you to choose. There’s nothing better then joining your community for a good sweat for charity. The best part of the morning with these Turkey Trots is you don’t have to run to participate. Many have costume contests for those wanting to dress up for fun, and volunteers are always needed to help the events run smoothly. Here are just 2 Turkey Trots around Los Angeles for you to join!

Turkey Trots Around Los Angeles

Burbank Turkey Trot

Burbank Community Y.M.C.A Turkey Trot
Location: 321 E Magnolia Blvd
Hop over for one of a few races! This trot features a 5k/10k option, as well as a walking 5k or 10k. If you’re the competitive type, this race offers cash prizes and medals for winners – –of the race and costume contest! If you want to burn off some of the little ones’ energy before sitting down for dinner, there’s also a Kiddie K (1 Kilometer) to wear them out.

Turkey Trot DTLA

Turkey Trot DTLA

Turkey Trot Los Angeles
Location: Downtown L.A. – Spring Street and throughout DTLA.
Another great place for a Thanksgiving morning race. Run throughout downtown and work up an appetite for your dinner with a 10K or 5K race option. There’s also the “Widdle Wobble” for the kiddos 10 and under. Costumes encouraged and winners get a true reward—a pumpkin spice cheesecake! This race benefits the Los Angeles Midnight Mission, an organization on skid row helping community members transition out of homelessness into a self-sustaining life – how cool!

Dust off the old turkey costume, or get creative and bop down to either location for a good sweat and to help out a good cause.  Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Glitterati Tours of Beverly Hills!
