While Los Angeles is a city full of trends, there are certain things that never go out of style – and ironically right now, trendy meets the past with the current wave of vintage obsessions. Whether in media with shows like “Stranger Things,” music, or clothing, people love their vintage and love bragging about the diamonds in the rough they found digging through a second-hand store. The love of vintage doesn’t stop with film and clothes though. Vintage games, and even drink recipes are popping up all over Los Angeles (and let’s be real, the world). L.A. finally found a way to bring all of this vintage love together by putting together something else the city loves: a festival!
Santa Anita Park
This year, just outside of Los Angeles in Arcadia on Saturday, September 15th, 2018, lovers of vintage and years past will get the chance to celebrate together at Vintage Vibe Festival Los Angeles. The festival touts modern day bands with sounds of yesteryears. While you sway to your favorite era and sound, you can wander food booths, interactive booths (think pin up shoots!), visit a barber, take classic school photos, and of course, play some classic video games.
Some of the bands performing during the festival may not be the mainstream groups that you’ve heard on playlists, but they definitely kill at playing some vintage tunes. Here’s the current set list: Las Cafeteras, The Shelters, Black Joe Lewis & the Honey Bears, Low Cut Connie, Eryn Allen Kane, The Dip, The Explorers Club, Dustbowl Revival, Lizzy and The Triggermen, The Junglecats, Phat Cat Swinger, Ultra Violet Groove, and The Flux Capacitors. Make sure you check them all out beforehand so you can find your favorite for the day!
Vintage Vibe Festival Los Angeles
