West Hollywood is a Wonderful Place to Walk

Tour companies in West Hollywood Growing up in Los Angeles, you would never think about hopping on a bike or hoofing it to the store.  The city was really built around the automobile.  Even the group Missing Persons sang the chorus, “Nobody Walks in L.A.”  This is slowly changing.  In fact, West Hollywood was just named the most walk-friendly city in California.  At 1.9 square miles and just over 35,000 residents, nestled between Beverly Hills and Hollywood, West Hollywood is a spectacular city.  With major streets like Melrose Avenue, Santa Monica Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard (Sunset Strip), this pedestrian loving place has everything within walking distance.  The walkability really brings the community together.  It also allows one to experience the diversity of the city.  Visit the Russian community east of Fairfax with its many produce shops and bakeries.  On Santa Monica Blvd., west of Fairfax you have the gay-friendly neighborhood with bars and restaurants such as Fubar, Tender Greens, Starbucks, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, The Mother Lode, Mickey’s, Eleven, The (New) Revolver, Rage, Here Bar and of course, the world-famous Abbey.  One block up, walk The Sunset Strip with The Viper Room, The Whiskey-A-Go-Go, The Roxy, The Rainbow Bar and Grill, The Key Club, and the House of Blues.  Amazing hotels also dot The Strip.  Check out The London and have a drink on their rooftop or dine at Boxwood Café by Gordon Ramsay.  Stop by The Mondrian with its Skybar and Asia De Cuba.  Also, The Grafton, The Andaz Hotel with Riot House, The Standard, The Chateau Marmont, and Sunset Tower (home to The Vanity Fair Oscar party).  Welcome to West Hollywood…  now put on some comfortable shoes and enjoy!
