What’s Happening in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills

What’s happening in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills recently, and in the near future?  Quite a bit, as always.  The Los Angeles area welcomes a handful of new hotels including The Hotel Figueroa in Downtown Los Angeles, The Dream Hotel in Hollywood, and The Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills.  The Waldorf is the latest in luxury in the heart of Beverly Hills.  Their general neighbors include The Peninsula, The Montage Beverly Hills, The Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, The SLS, The Beverly Wilshire Hotel and The Hotel Bel Air.  The Waldorf shares a lot with the legendary Beverly Hilton Hotel, once known as the Merv Griffin Hotel, and the annual host of The Golden Globe Awards (sadly, The Beverly Hilton Hotel is also where we lost Whitney Houston).

In entertainment, the studio tours of Warner Bros. VIP Tour, Universal Studios, Paramount and Sony/MGM, are gearing up for potential record numbers over our busy summer period.  While most show tapings are on hiatus over summer, check out tickets for shows like The Price is Right, which just today announced a handful of summer tapings.  TPIR taping is a long day, but well-worth the wait once you get inside for the most energized audience in Hollywood.  Who knows?… you could walk away with a boat, a car, or $50,000 in PLINKO cash!  If attending a taping at CBS Studios, walk next door to the always fantastic Farmer’s Market LA and The Grove. Side by side venues which are extremely popular with both locals and tourists.  Not only are these great places to dine, shop and people watch, but keep posted on non-stop entertainment happenings at both locations during your visit.

The Hollywood Bowl Summer Season

The Hollywood Bowl Summer Season

The Hollywood Bowl is kicking off their summer season.  Look for opening night celebrations with The Moody Blues, followed by shows with Jason Mraz, Queen with Adam Lambert, a tribute to David Bowie, The Sound of Music Sing-a-Long, Blondie, Pentatonix, Tony Bennett, Jack Johnson, Kool & The Gang, and dozens of others.  We always say, it doesn’t matter what you see at the Bowl, just see something!  It’s a true Hollywood landmark.  Check the schedule, but most shows, guests are allowed (encouraged) to bring in their own picnic baskets and wine to enjoy under the stars.  If you opt out of this option, there are numerous venues on site, including a fantastic wine store.

Looking for others concert venues?  Check into The Greek Theatre, The Pantages Theatre, The Dolby Theatre, The Palladium, The Ford Theatre, and of course the rock n’ roll heaven of The Sunset Strip with The Roxy, The Rainbow Bar & Grill, 1 OAK, The Viper Room, The Troubadour, and The Whisky A Go-Go.  One can even stay nearby these venues at the hip and luxurious London West Hollywood Hotel at Beverly Hills.
