Where To See Christmas and Holiday Lights in LA

Where To See Christmas and Holiday Lights in LA? The easy answer is everywhere!

If you’re looking to make it more of a family-friendly event and destination look into:

Zoo Lights in Los Angeles

Zoo Lights in Los Angeles

LA Zoo Lights. It happens between now and January 6th, 2019.  This nighttime journey includes a twinkling tunnel, illuminated snowflakes, colorful projections, a herd of animated elephants, and a disco ball forest. There’s even glow dancers and stilt-walkers.  On hand, you can even see live reindeer and have questions answered from professional reindeer keepers.  Santa will also be there on select night for photo ops.

Descanso Gardens Enchanted Forest of Lights

Just north of Los Angeles, sits the community of La Canada Flintridge.  In the gardens, take a one-mile walk through unique outdoor lighting experiences. Dine and drink on-site at Maple Restaurant (reservations recommended as there are limited walk-up seats available). The Enchanted Marketplace includes great grab and go items, like Mexican favorites from Rosa’s Homemade Tamales, Descanso Dogs and other snacks.  Warm up at the Lightwave Lake at the whiskey bar with special flights, and other specialty hot drinks, including cider and hot chocolate.

Santas Village at The Grove

Santa’s Village at The Grove

Other great spots that are fully decorated include the shopping centers like The Grove in Hollywood and Americana in Glendale.  Both have a Santa’s Village, as well as a massive Christmas tree in the middle of the park.

Famous streets like Hollywood Blvd (another large tree on display at The Hollywood and Highland Center) and Rodeo Drive are completely decked out.  When at the walk of fame, walk around the block and check out The Magic Castle, which is fully lit up.  When on Rodeo, enjoy BOLD extended hour shopping on select days.

The Beverly Wilshire Hotel

Of course, some of the most incredible decorations can always be found in the lobbies of Beverly Hills luxury hotels.  Look into The Four Seasons on Doheny, The Beverly Wilshire Hotel, The Waldorf Astoria, and The Montage Hotel.

Glitterati Tours does not offer a specific tour focused on holiday lights. However, if you’re doing our private tour as the sun goes down, you can certainly request a peek at most of the above.

Happy Holidays!  And as we write this, it’s also the last night of Hanukkah.  We hope your 2018 Hanukkah was full of happiness and cheer! If you are Kosher, and planning a trip to Los Angeles, we’ve listed a small handful of our favorite Kosher restaurants on our LA INFO page.
