Your Introduction to Los Angeles and Sightseeing Tours

Happy New Year All!

Approximately 90% of what we do at Glitterati Tours is straightforward sightseeing tours of the city of Los Angeles.  We cover famous landmarks, celebrity homes, shopping areas, history, dining options, hot bars, gossip, real estate, and everything else that L.A. has to offer.

The other 10% is somewhat of a hybrid version of the following which includes an introduction to Los Angeles:

New to the city of Los Angeles:

We get requests all the time for recent transplants to the area wanting a better lay of the land.  We can’t stress enough how spread out we are compared to more compact cities.  We are 469 square miles, with a mountain range range splitting us down the middle.  “Where’s the best place to live” is a frequent question all of us guides often hear.  This really depends on many factors:  Close to the underground Metro? (Yes, we’ve got one) Want to be near the beach?  Working in Downtown LA?  Freeway accessable?  Near the studios?  Walkable to nightlife?  Eclectic neighborhoods?  Best views?  Money is no object?  Safe neighborhoods close to USC or UCLA?

The latter is extremely important for families coming out to Los Angeles to check out schools such as UCLA for their soon-to-be-adults venturing out on their own.  Nearby areas can include Beverly Hills, Bel Air, West L.A., West Hollywood, Brentwood, and of course Westwood.

We also get requests from realtors that wish to give homebuyers new to Los Angeles the gift of a private tour. It sure beats a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of Champagne.  This helps folks get acquainted to the neighborhoods surrounding their home.  We even had a guest build a brand new home in Bel Air (worth 25M) that hired us to fill her in on the history of her “hood” and some insight on who her famous/infamous neighbors were nearby.
